The gorgeous Amy Lee with her son, Jack.

She’s only one year older than me (which is basically peanuts when you get to be our age), and I’ve always identified so strongly with her struggles as a creative soul and as a person from the beginning (I first listened to Evanescence back in 2003, with the then-new single release of “Bring Me To Life”). Though she doesn’t know me and I’ve never met her, I feel like, through her work, we’ve become best friends. I see so much of myself in her.

It’s been a real pleasure to see her personal life become so rich and full, and to watch her evolve as an artist over the last decade and a half. I’m so looking forward to what the Synthesis era will bring. She is a one-of-a-kind talent, and the true voice of my generation.

Mostly, I write stuff. And, like the Egyptians and the Internet, I put cat pictures on my walls. Also, I can read your Tarot.
