Ok first off for the Dark song another RWBY track Divide from Vol. 3 Listen to that and TELL ME IT DOESN’T MAKE YOU THINK OF DARK CONFRONTING MARK AND HIS FRIENDS AND TEAMIPLIER WITH THE OTHER EGOS BEHIND HIM! IF ANYONE MADE A MARK/DARK AMV WITH THIS SONG IT WOULD BE AWESOME! *ahem*
Anyway onto my theory! Sorry in advanced if its scattered or makes little to no sense XD I’m not a big theorist like you Miss Melissa and for any grammar and punctuation mistakes.
Ok I know the ending of WKM has been gone over many times at this point BUT i don’t know if anyone noticed that after we’re shot when Mark drops down his eyes are black! Now why in the world would Mark’s eyes be black? I mean it could be and probably is a metaphor for his being dead but then why does Mark’s voice sound deeper when he says ‘Life’s it’s not fair, is it?’ Hmmm….
Then shadows flicker and everything goes black and Damien and Celine are here! Why was that necessary for them to appear? Their spirits now they could’ve faded into view without the need for that Its almost like something didn’t want Us seeing how they found Us… now pay attention to what they say here:
DAMIEN:If you trust us. Just let me in. We can fix this. Together
CELINE I won’t force this on you, you have a choice here. Just know that this is the only way you can escape.
First off Damien says ‘Just let ME in’. ME not US why would he say that if BOTH he and Celine want back in your body, when their BOTH angry at Mark and want revenge why would Damien say to just let HIM into your body and not US meaning both him AND Celine?
Then Celine says ‘You have a choice here but this is the only way you can escape’ If that’s the case we really DON"T have a choice then do we? Its like she was leading us into answering the way she wanted…So why say we have a choice if we in fact don’t Celine?
All of this seems very odd to me… and very familiar anyone who’s watched A Date with Markiplier will remember when we go into the Dark Mark movie the shadows flicker then everything goes black and Dark shows up! An awfully lot like how Damien and Celine showed up isn’t it? then this happens
DARK: Take your pick, anything of four different choices. More than he could have ever given you and let’s see how far down this rabbit hole really goes!
And we’re given four videos to go to but but the thing is only ONE actually continues the story so in reality we didn’t really have a choice, just like we had no choice in WKM… Then this occurs:
DARK: Just let me in, its as simple as that... And the video is titled FREEDOM but we’re NOT free, we’re still trapped with Dark and He needs us to let Him in… Eerily similar to Damien and Us now isn’t it?
Why would all of this be so similar? And scarily so, unless the similarity is because Its the same person both times.
What does that mean you ask? It means that Dark was the one who mocked us in the void after we were shot NOT Mark, that it was Dark who spoke to us NOT Damien and Celine that’s why the shadows flickered, why everything went black before they appeared because Dark took their forms!
That’s why they spoke like Dark would, why ‘Damien’ said to just let HIM in, not let them BOTH in, why ‘Celine’ said we had a choice but it was our ONLY way out thus we didn’t actually have a choice.
It was Dark all along and we let him in…
This was fun! ^_^ Again sorry if this made no sense XD
When we speak to George, he remarks that he hasn’t been in the house for 15 years, and that only one thing would make him go back in. Then the light show starts, and George sprints back in. Conclusion?
Whatever happened then, happened before.
We run in and encounter Celine. Except, well, it’s not Celine. And that red and blue aura looks very familiar. Conclusion?
Celine, while in the room she was working in earlier, gets possessed. By Dark.
WKM isn’t Dark’s origin story. Damien didn’t become Dark. Dark existed long before those fateful nights at Markiplier Manor.
The “Damien” and “Celine” we meet in the void is Dark, using forms that are familiar to us in order to ensure our cooperation.
If WKM is an origin at all, it is the origin of how Dark secured for himself a body. It isn’t Dark’s tragedy. It is his greatest triumph.
Yeah. In that light, it’s still Damien’s tragedy. Yet not in the sense that he became Dark… but in that he was utterly destroyed by Dark.
Much like, I imagine, in the Buffy spinoff Angel, the spirit of Winifred Burkle was consumed as fuel for the Old One Illyria’s resurrection. In the end, only Fred’s body, which became a vehicle for Illyria, was left.
Even the poor girl’s innards became liquefied and the skin hardened into an otherwise empty shell to contain the ancient demon’s powerful essence. Fred died in agony moments before Illyria arose, and not even the girl’s sweet, loving, beautiful soul survived the process. Only her memories, which were absorbed by Illyria, were left mostly untouched… giving Illyria the ability to mimic her when needed, and to torment the dead girl’s grieving boyfriend with a pitch-perfect recall of Fred’s last words.
Meaning, there was no life after death for Winifred. Only oblivion. And such might be Damien’s fate, as well.
Oh, of course. WKM is certainly a tragedy. In the end Mark is dead (and we have no proof he was anything more than egotistical), Abe is dying (although not dead), George, Benjamin and Chef are jobless and also homeless, Damien and Celine are dead and their souls possibly destroyed or trapped in the void, we are dead and our soul is trapped in a mirror, and William is driven to madness.
No one came out of it unscathed.
Yup. In the end, Dark might be the only one who came out on the other side in one piece. Because He was behind it all, engineering the events unseen and unrecognized by the innocent people who He hurt to get what He wanted.
