Hi! I’m Melissa Treglia, an aspiring (but broke) writer from small-town New Jersey. I love to write just about anything, but freeform poetry is my favourite method. In 2016, I had the good fortune to be awarded for making the top ten of the NAMI New Jersey poetry contest (under my legal name). In 2015, I released my poetry in both digital and paperback format. The collection is called Apocryphal Musings, and is available at SmashWords and CreateSpace.
Currently, in addition to continuing my poetry, I am also returning to my long-time passion for short stories.
I have been writing fiction, fan fiction and sundry since I was in kindergarten. My earliest fan fiction was a piece that was inspired by the 80’s television show Knight Rider, which I had begun to write when I was about 7 or 8 years old. Unfortunately, I never completed it and now don’t know where it has gone to. :/
I’ve been posting my fanfic online since 2001, and have been writing original pieces for even longer. I consider fanfic to be a writing exercise, showing a bit of what I can do and keeping my wordsmithing sharp. So, even if I don’t respond right away to your reviews, know that I appreciate your honesty and your opinions help me to perfect my craft.
I’m currently courting publishers for the original novel I co-wrote (while also writing several others on my own). And yes, genre fic (sci-fi, fantasy and horror) are totally my thing. But I’m willing to work in other genres too, because I love to stretch my creative muscles.
I also love reading lots and lots of Forever Knight, Jekyll & Hyde, Sweeney Todd and Youtuber fan fiction. I’m something of a music aficionado and tend to write a lot of songs… or be inspired to write by them. Any kind of music is good enough for me (except country or rap, and even then I have some exceptions).
Singing, voice acting, and writing is definitely a major outlet for me as, in my offline offstage life, I’m very reserved around others I’m not familiar with. I’m definitely a more outspoken brazen individual in the online world. But such things are par for the course, n’est-ce pas?
At any rate, I’m trying to make an online presence for myself and get my name out there, and I need your help to do it. So please, donate a few bucks, so I can spend the rest of my life doing the thing I love so much: writing awesome fiction.
