Yes recovery is uphill. Yes it can be steep and slippery and you will probably stumble a few times, especially if you walk the unaided path.
But you see those banisters? Those rails to hold onto? That help? Use it. Help is there for you. Don’t be blinded by the uphill icy path. Take the slow, aided path with something to hold onto. Therapy, medication, CBT, online self-help, etc. Taking little steps with help means you avoid most of the dangers of sipping. Always find your banister.
