Description

My mother wanted to do something special for the holidays. Who am I to refuse, especially when I get my love of music from her?

Her voice sounds wistful, so I added ambient noise that subtly infuses the tensions of the year into the song… and the eventual hope of release when the year finally dies.

(Note: Headphones are recommended for the full listening experience!)

Lyrics

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and the days auld lang syne?

And days of auld lang syne, my dear,
and days of auld lang syne.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and days of auld lang syne?

And here’s a hand my trusty friend!
And give a hand of thine!
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Words and music by Robert Burns (1788)

Voice and guitar: Cindy Joyce Treglia

Mostly, I write stuff. And, like the Egyptians and the Internet, I put cat pictures on my walls. Also, I can read your Tarot.
